The Vacation- Chapter 3

This is the last one I swear. :)

Day 5

Thursday, March 25: Mazatlan, Mexico

In Mazatlan we didn't sign up for any excursions. We decided we'd use this day as our day on the beach. When we got off the boat they had cart/train things that took us to some shops. From here there were tons taxi's with Mexicans in our faces telling us why their trashed taxi with stained ripped up seats is better than the other trashed taxi with stained ripped up seats. As we were walking towards the taxis, we saw a couple who were on their honeymoon who both spoke spanish, so I ask them if they wanted to share a taxi. Brilliant I know.
In the taxi on our way to the beach there the husband of the couple decided to tells us he only has a 50. : Since MY husband is much more prepared than him, we had enough small dollar bills where we just gave him 45 back and paid the driver, since we weren't planning on spending much here -we were just going to the beach- we'd only brough like $60 bucks (in small bills since uh helllo we're in Mexico..they can't give you that much American cash back!).
Since we'd had to give our small bills to the couple, we now had 5 ones and a $50. Aweeesome. We weren't too worried because we were just going to the beach...
When we got to the beach, we found a guy renting out boogie boards which we realllly wanted to do. He wanted $15 (psh yeah right) so we talked him down to $7.. buuut like I said, we only had 5 ones and a 50.. which of course this guy didn't have change for...awesome! So the guy told us we could go to a money exchange just across the street and get smaller bills there. So we rand over to the money exhange, as soon as we told her we wanted cash back for a $50 she started shaking her head and yelling at us in spanish & she just walked away. We took that as a no and just looked at each other and started laughing. After a second we started ringing the bell till she came back and asked her where else we could go. She pointed down the street and we figured out she was directing us to another money exchange. So, we started walking.
We walked forever until we finally found another money exchange. Luckily they had enough to exchange with us! So that was annoying. But it was fine, kinda funny.
We then walked all the way back to the beach and rented the boogie boards.
Man, we had a BLAST! Like I said before, the waves in Mexico are wayyy bigger than I'm used to. We seriously surfed in the waves alllll day!! We had so much fun.
Blake boogie boarding :)
I just like this picture. :)

By the end of the day we were exhausted and hungry. We decided not to eat in mexico (didn't want to take the chance of getting sick) so we just took a pulmanilla (sp?) back to the ship and ate lunch there.

Day 6

Friday, March 26: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
This was by far the most beautiful of the places that we stopped. Unfortunately we were there for the shortest amount of time.
In Cabo they don't dock the ship at land, instead they have little boats come pick everyone up. When those boats brought us to the dock, the streets were LINED with mexicans trying to get you to go on an excursion with them. They all get in your face and try to get you to go snorkeling with them, or whale watching with them, or whatever it is. It's actually really annoying. We walked around for a bit and looked at the shops. The people in the shops here would NOT budge on their prices, and everything was such cheap quality we didn't buy anything.
Ok so so far it sounds like I've only talked about the crappy things in Cabo when really it was way fun, I for sure want to go back to JUST there someday.

Random picture at one of the shops in Cabo that were right off the boat.

I didn't take this ^ picture, I found it on Google, but this is a national part in Cabo. It was absolutely BREATH TAKING, and even more beautiful to see in real life than it is in the picture. & Its all natural! It was very cool.
In Cabo instead of doing an excursion through the cruise line, we decided to find a vendor IN Mexico. The reason we did that was because Blake REALLY wanted to go scuba diving again and I wanted to be able to go with him. The cruise line wouldn't let me do it since I'm not certified.. But we were in MEXICO & they don't require you to be certified! haha I was sooo excited. Scuba diving is something I've ALWAYS wanted to do. So, we found the least annoying mexican trying to sell things and asked him where we should go scuba diving.
When I first got in the water with all my gear on I was really nervous. I couldn't get myself to go down at first, thinking about going to the bottom of the ocean was freakin me out. I kept imagining that I would get down there and feel like I couldn't breath and having a panic attack down there. So we just floated on top and acted like we were snorkeling. After doing that for a little bit I started to get more comfortable breathing with the equipment and we went down! It was amazing. Scuba Diving is like being in a completely different world. I will DEFINITELY be getting scuba certified this summer so I can do it again!

After scuba diving, we went back to that beach in the picture above. We didn't take any pictures (of course) but we did get some video so at least I have that..haha
The waves here were somehow even BIGGER than the ones in Puerte Vallarta and Mazatlan. At one point I was just chillin on the beach and all of a sudden a HUUUGE wave came and completely covered me! haha Blake thought that was pretty funny. After that I was COVERED in sand. So, I went to go rinse off in the water, when ANOTHER huge wave came and knocked me over (I'm not that cordinated) and rammed right into some coral which sliced my foot open.
Yeah it hurt.
It was probably 1:00 by now and we had to be back on the boat by 3, so we just decided to go back since my foot was bleeding everywhere!

Takin the little boat back to our ship-you can see the national park I mention behind us.

And here's our ship!

Wow, this is a really long post. I'll end with that. :)

The End!
