&
Yes, I'm just barely blogging about it...
& it was exactly what we needed.
During Spring Break, it was snowing in SLC, but in Moab, it got up to 80 degrees! Yeah baby! Plus, we got to use all the camping stuff we got at the Hanson Camp Wedding Shower.
& I've got to say, they HOOKED US UP at that shower! We really got everything we needed for camping. Thanks Hanson Family!
I wish now that I would have thought to take a pic of our camp all set up, but I didn't think about it till it was too late...
Anyway, we got up there on Thursday at about 5:00 PM. We found our site, set up our tent, then we went to the grocery story in town (which was about 15 minutes away) to get ICE for the cooler. By the time we were done with all of that, it was about 7:30 and we were getting hungry. So we made dinner, (Side note* Blake is really good at making dutch oven!) we had King Ranch. Which, by the way, doesn't use ranch dressing like it sounds like its going to. Haha & it was so good! Then we sat around the campfire, made s'mores and played Skip-Bo (Our new favorite game). We seriously played like 10 games of Skipbo that night. haha It was so relaxing and so fun just being together without any stress. AWESOME!!
The next day, I woke up to the sound of a bird chirping outside our tent.
WHICH, normally, I love waking up to that sound (it reminds me of when I was little and would sleep at my grandmas house. She always had pet Canarys)
However, these birds were no Canarys. I think they were crows actually...and it was sitting in the tree next to our tent. It sang like this "tweeet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeet, tweeet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeet, tweeet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeet, tweeet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeet, tweeet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeet" Over and over and over, the same sound, until it woke me up. Then I plugged my ears, hit the side of the tent, and tried to scare it away. But, this bird would not be scared away. It wouldn't leave and it was driving me insane. (Meanwhile, Blake is still out cold. he can sleep through seriously anything) Eventually with my ears plugged and my head under the blankets, I fell back a sleep.. not an hour later I woke up again and knew I wouldn't be falling back asleep. So I poked Blake until he woke up and we made eggs and bacon for breakfast! We played some more Skipbo, then, once the sun was totally up, we cleaned up, got dressed and decided to do the hike up to the Delicate Arch. We packed some lunch and were on our way!
Almost to the arch! You can see it behind us. (in both of these pictures)
We made it!
Me and Blake decided we wanted to hike up the back (right down there) instead of the way everyone else goes...the only problem, is I'm afraid of heights and froze when we got to a spot (right below that edge) it didn't have a lot of places for me to put my feet. Haha embaressing. This guy tried to come help me, but he was coming so close to the edge on such a deep slant I was yelling at him to go back up so he didn't fall. We took this picture because I overcame myself and finished the hike. :)Beautiful hike, and SO much fun.
The next morning, I woke up again to the sound of birds..but it was different than the day before...I heard a few squacks every now and then, but mostly them flying around our tent. I woke up slowly and listened to the comotion going on outside of our tent. Once I was more awake, I realized what was going on. I jumped up and went outside. I noticed almost right away that my marshmellows that we'd accidently left out in an open bucket were gone! I looked around and saw a crow fly to the trail by our tent and land right next to my missing bag of marshmellows. I yelled: "HEY! Go away!" And went running over there to scare them away. This time I scared them and they all went flying away. The chirping was gone! I couldn't hear anymore birds...silence. ..except for Blake laughing and making fun of me from inside of our tent.
After that we made scones and decided we wanted to hike the Fiery Furnace. WOW! This hike was SO cool! You had to get a permit to hike this one. Here is the picture of The Fiery Furnace:

We packed another lunch and went to the Fiery Furnace! These are picture of us, inside of the fiery furnace:
